The First Nesting Leatherback of the Season Arrived at Sandy Point

A leatherback turtle returns to the sea after nesting at Sandy Point Wildlife Refure

The 2015 leatherback season at Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge has begun!  The first activity occurred on February 23rd. We’re looking forward to the season and keeping our fingers crossed for big numbers this year! Geographic Consulting’s sea turtle bioligists will be arriving on St. Croix in the next few weeks.
