Geographic Consulting’s turtle crew had a fun time hosting Nigel Marven last week. Some of us were a little star struck by the Wildlife adventurer that first became famous during his time with the BBC Natural History Unit and now makes films for Image Impact. (By some of us I mean Brian and Parker, everybody else was much cooler.) They have made many films TV series, including Killer Whale Islands, Penguin Safari, and Prehistoric Park, among many others.
Nigel and his camera crew were filming footage for a Caribbean
Conservation documentary and stopped at Sandy Point to see nesting Leatherback Sea Turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) and learn more about our project. Jeff Kuts and the rest of Geographic Consulting field team took him on a few regular patrols. Courtney got some extra camera time talking with Nigel about the monitoring project. We all look forward to seeing the finished product when it is releasedt and seeing The turtles and the Crew of the Sandy Point Wildlife Refuge featured on film! Pretty cool !
